Privacy
This is a short, plain explanation rather than a long legal document — if anything here is unclear, write to info@generalnews.media and ask.
What this site collects
generalnews.media uses Google Analytics to understand how many people visit and which pages are read. That's the only tracking on this site — there's no login, no user accounts, no advertising, and no data is sold to anyone.
Google Analytics typically records things like: which pages you visited, roughly where you're browsing from (city/country level, not a precise location), what device and browser you're using, and how you arrived here (e.g. from a search engine). It does this through cookies and similar technology in your browser.
How to opt out
You don't need our permission to turn this off — it's controlled entirely from your side:
- Install Google's own Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on — blocks Google Analytics on every site, not just this one.
- Most ad blockers and privacy browser extensions (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, Brave's built-in shields, etc.) block Google Analytics by default.
- Blocking third-party cookies in your browser's settings has the same effect.
Story summaries and importance scores are generated automatically by AI from public RSS feeds — nothing about how you personally use this site influences that process.
