# Merlin ID app birdsong data aids global biodiversity project

Audio recordings of bird calls submitted by users of the Merlin ID app will be used to support a global biodiversity research project. The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, which runs the app, is sharing the data to help scientists monitor bird populations and inform conservation efforts worldwide.
