Engineered immune cells show promise for liver cancer treatment
Researchers have developed CAR T cells that target GPC3, a protein found in liver cancer cells, and are armored with a modified TGF-beta receptor to resist tumor suppression. This new approach aims to improve immunotherapy effectiveness against hepatocellular carcinoma, a common and deadly liver cancer. The advance could lead to more potent treatments for patients with limited options.
