Gene-Edited Puppies Could Be Hypoallergenic, But Don't Get Too Excited

Researchers used CRISPR gene editing to create puppies with a reduced ability to produce the main allergen found in dog saliva and skin. The advance could eventually lead to hypoallergenic pets for allergy sufferers, though the technique raises safety and ethical questions and is not ready for commercial use.
